Creator of Death
A scientist confronts what his artificial children may become—and who intends to own them.

As I finished my final entry on the report of the Olympian experiment, I felt like a heavy burden lifting from my shoulders. But that only lasted for a mere moment when I realised what I had done.
Are you okay Doctor? I heard the faint voice of my Assistant Veronica. It was only then I realised the worries had manifested to lengths where it can be seen from outside.
I’m okay Veronica, Tell me something. I paused.
Yes, What is it? Doctor. Veronica replied in an instant.
Do you think parents of Mass murderers were worried or regretted that they birthed and raised their kids to be such monsters? I asked.
I don’t know how to answer that, Doctor. But, I’m sure this won’t turn out to be anything like that. The core of the experiment is to prevent them from being sentient. I believe we got that right. Veronica assured me.
That’s true but after all things considered, It’s only letters and numbers that can be manipulated. I feel like I’m getting sick. This is not how I imagined the conclusion would be. I told as I was battling nauseating effects on my brain.
It will be okay Doctor. Look at me, I was your first. And I turned out to be okay. I don’t feel like killing anyone else. Veronica was worried about me. That’s what I wanted to think but Olympians weren’t given any emotional capacity to feel or express feelings. I was tasked to use every bit of their memory as efficiently as possible and they affirmed that emotions are not necessary.
We are going to turn a new page in Humanity, Doctor. When this Olympian project is successful, we are going to lure those rich suckers into buying a custom made kid. Yes, that’s how we are going to market this. DIY Kids for Rich folks. It’s almost like a trophy kid. We are gonna be rich. That’s what those who were funding the Research and Experiment said.
I felt sick. The Olympian project was my baby, the culmination of my efforts and It’s gonna be used to fund these bureaucrats and their schemes. I didn’t have a way out, I already used the entirety of the money they invested on this. If it weren’t for them Olympians would’ve been buried inside.
