Eternal Dance of Life

A return to familiar love, familiar fear, and the cycle of breaking all over again.

Hi.

“You’ve been awfully silent the past few days,” she said.

“Yeah, I have. Just had a lot on my mind.”

I think I’ve seen this before. You, me, and this eternal dance around the obvious. Last time, I barely survived the ending.

I always believed that one day, I’d be strong enough to go through it again. Turns out, I’m not.

Because at the end of this dance, you’ll have someone to fall back into. And I won’t.

That thought haunts me and keeps telling me that my suffering is justified, no matter how much it hurts.

You’re like the moon, Calm, alluring, untouchable. And I’ll fall for you all over again, knowing exactly how it ends. I’ll hate myself for it. I’ll lie in a pool of my own tears, I’ll pick up the pieces of my shattered heart, convince myself I’m fine. Picking apart the moments I should have noticed, Blaming myself, And, just like always, there won’t be anyone to tell me otherwise.

And then, one day, I’ll fall for someone else. And the cycle will begin again.
