Note to Self

A reflection on love, inaction, responsibility, and the moments that quietly reshape a life.

The magic of life is that you never truly realize when you’ve fallen in love—or when you’ve fallen out of it. Some days, you hold onto hope, believing that if you just try a little harder, things will fall into place. You convince yourself that happiness is within reach, just one decision away. And then, one day, you wake up and realize that no matter how much you hoped, no matter how much effort you put in, some things simply aren’t meant to last.

A wise man once said, “People say time changes things, but it’s not true. Doing things changes things. Not doing things leaves things exactly as they were.” Life doesn’t change just because you wait for it to. You witness countless moments unfolding around you. Some you notice, some you don’t. But only a few are within your control. And when you lose control of those, whether through action or inaction, you alone are responsible for the consequences, be they good or bad.

It’s easy to blame circumstances, timing, or even other people, but the truth is, life is nothing more than a reflection of the choices you make. Every decision, no matter how small, leads you down a path that shapes who you become. Sometimes, that path is clear and purposeful. Other times, it feels like you’re wandering without direction. But even in the moments of uncertainty, one thing remains true: you are in charge of your own life.
